CO2 Fire Systems was the original gaseous fire suppression agent and with appropriate safety measures is still used today as an effective and economical solution.
CO2 Fire Systems is the only gaseous agent where the design rules specifically provide guidance on the protection of deep seated hazards.
Total flooding or local application systems are designed to meet the requirements of NFPA 12 or BS5306- 4 and are specifically designed using hydraulic flow calculation software.
The system is VdS approved and components meet the requirements of EN12094 and Pressure Equipment Directive (PED).
HYGOOD® High Pressure Carbon Dioxide Fire Systems are especially effective for non-occupied hazards.
Whatever the application, from cylinders to nozzle, each system is custom-designed for your specific fire hazards.
High pressure systems use individual storage cylinders that can be manifolded together for rapid simultaneous discharge.
Cylinders valves can be operated automatically or manually, and either locally or remotely using electric, pneumatic or mechanical actuators.
CO2 Fire Systems have been used in fire protection for over 100 years. HYGOOD High Pressure CO2 Fire Systems are especially effective for non-occupied hazards.

Carbon dioxide is an effective fire suppression agent applicable to a wide range of fire hazards.
Carbon dioxide works quickly, with no residual clean-up associated with a system discharge which translates into minimal business interruption.
Both CO2 Fire Systems consist of a fixed supply of carbon dioxide connected to a piping network for agent distribution.
A total flooding system quickly extinguishes both surface and deep seated fire hazards by discharging the agent into an enclosed volume.
A local application system is used when the hazard is non-enclosable. Local application systems protect a two- or three-dimensional hazard by discharging the carbon dioxide directly on the burning material.
Fike CO2 Fire Systems use intelligent, reliable, and fast acting controls to quickly sense a fire before it can cause costly damage to your property.
Carbon dioxide gas has a high rate of expansion which allows it to work fast. When applied to a fire, CO2 Fire Systems provides a heavy blanket of gas that reduces the oxygen level to a point where combustion cannot occur.
Since carbon dioxide is a gas, there is no clean-up associated with a system discharge — which means minimal business interruption.
#4 – Ansul by Johnson Controls
ANSUL High Pressure Carbon Dioxide Fire Suppression System

- Marine System is UL Listed and USCG Approved.
- Leaves No Residue.
- Non-Corrosive and Non-Conductive.
- Suitable for Class A, B, and C Hazards.
- Total Flooding or Local Application Options.
- Fixed Nozzle and/or Hose Reel Agent Distribution.
Carbon dioxide is a versatile and economical agent that can be used to totally flood enclosed hazard areas or can be discharged directly at the hazard using the local application design method.
Protecting property involves more than suppressing fire. Conventional fire suppression methods can cause collateral damage to valuable assets.
The ANSUL® High Pressure CO2 Fire Systems suppresses fire without leaving behind any residue after discharge, avoiding damage to sensitive equipment.
No need for agent cleanup means less downtime after an incident.
While carbon dioxide is most effective against Class B flammable liquid fires, it is also the only gaseous agent capable of deep seated Class A hazard protection.
When properly designed, the carbon dioxide system will suppress fire in Class A, B and C hazards by displacing the air containing oxygen that supports combustion.
Thus, in certain applications, it is mandatory that additional equipment be provided as an added safeguard.
From cylinder to nozzle, each system can be custom-designed for specific fire hazards. High pressure systems use individual storage containers — from 35 lb (16 kg) to 120 lb (54 kg) capacity each — that can be manifolded together for rapid simultaneous discharge.
Container valves can be opened automatically or manually and either locally or remotely using electric, pneumatic or mechanical valve actuators.
CO2 Fire Systems have protected more marine vessels than any other type and continue to be a primary solution for engine rooms, auxiliary machinery spaces and paint lockers.
Automatic detection is provided for single or multiple hazards using an AUTOPULSE conventional or addressable releasing control panel with highly sensitive smoke, heat and flame detectors.
When a fire is detected, the system will sound alarms, shut down equipment and release the carbon dioxide fire suppression system.
Mechanical and pneumatic manual system actuation methods are also available.

CO2 Fire Suppression Systems
CO2 Snuffing Systems
